13.07.2011. NABDA/NYSC BIOENTERPRISES SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME

NABDA has been involved in the training/sensitization of Corp members on some bioenterprises at various orientation camps in the different states of the federation. Some of the enterprises which they are sensitized on include:

* Fish farming
* Snail farming
* Yoghurt production
* Macropropagation of Plantain/Banana suckers
* Mushroom farming.

19.07.2011. NABDA/NYSC/MDGs War Against Poverty (WAP) Programme

NABDA/NYSC for about two years now have been involved in the full training of interested Corp members in some agro based farming programmes.

The trained corp members  who are given soft loans and allowed to set up farms in localities of their choice are expected to carry out a full farming practice.
The loan given ranges between N200,000 – N250,000 is expected to be paid back within a period of 30 months with no interest rate.
So far, a total of about 2, 000 corp members have been trained so far and about 60% of them have set up their farms in various parts of the country.
NABDA is involved in the training of these corp members in areas of Snail farming, Grasscutter rearing, macropropagation of banana/plantain suckers.

11.08.2011.The department of Food & Industrial Biotechnology  is carrying out a weekly departmental seminar that touches on different topics that are relevant to the department and are taken by technical staff of the department.

09.09.2011. A proposed National Soya programme with Dipton Investment Limited will be holding soon.

11.09 .2011.There is an up-coming National Cassava Summit between NABDA AND FIIRO.

17.10.2011. There is a proposed development and implementation of Biotechnology Curriculum for primary and secondary schools in Nigeria with Obafemi Awolowo University.
